Bama Football

Oh and we LOVE Alabama football. It's one of the bet reasons to remain a student at Bama...cheap tickets. Here are a few pics of the tailgating fun we've had so far.

October Beach Trip

We took the girls to the beach for Shrimp Festival a couple of weeks ago. Here are some pictures. While there, we celebrated Brad's birthday, our tenth anniversary, and Mom's birthday. Lot's of fun and much needed rest. If you can rest while on vacation with two preschoolers. Well we ate a lot. That part was fun.

Fall already?

Wow. I can't believe it's September already. I've just recently completed my seminar on biosensors for the early detection of cancer. I am currently taking the last class I will ever take!!! Surface Analytical Chemistry-sounds exciting I know. I started the graduate program in Jan. 2006 and I am now almost 2 years in. I will graduate in December with a Master's, and finish the PhD around 2 years later. It is really flying by.

Emma and Sara Kate are getting so big. Emma is in the advanced 4 year old class and the teachers have asked to move her up. I am waiting until next year and maybe she can just skip kindergarten. Sara Kate is starting to do everything herself now. She is potty trained and now just goes to bed when she is told. She doesn't need the drawn out nightly routine like she did as a baby. It's sad really. My girls aren't babies anymore.

God has been so faithful in bringing me this far. I never thought I could get through my recent literature seminar in front of the whole department without passing out. I had people praying for me and it was obvious. I stepped into the lecture hall and all nervousness dissipated instantly. I knew right then that if God could switch off my nausea and anxiety that quickly, that He would make the words come out as well-He did. Even during Q & A the fear was gone. I am so thankful, because I couldn't do it alone. Thank God I don't have to.

My girls at Morgan Chapel

May 2008

I just can't believe spring semester is over and I am finished taking all but one of my classes. The girls will be out of preschool after tomorrow and staying with cousins for the summer. This will be the first time I have let teenagers watch them. Please pray. I have wonderful nieces and I am sure they will have a blast. Here are some new pictures of the girls. They recently went to my home church's 100th anniversary celebration. The pictures remind me of when I was little playing under the same trees.

Spring!!!

I am so thankful that spring is here! Everything is so beautiful and spring break is right around the corner. Please forgive the lack of posts and the fact that I accidently posted the Relay for Life sticker twice. My cousin had lymphoma recently and is participating. If you would like to give please go to her site by clicking on the sticker and finding her name (Jennie Hughes). She is participating in the event held at Central High School (Tuscaloosa, AL).
